Excellent French Cuisine in Old San Juan
Bodega Chic - Old San Juan, PR, United States

As historic and charming as Old San Juan is, it is also, predictably, well, touristy. And that means restaurants aimed at tourists (read: pizza! again and again and again!).
OK it isn't that bad, but finding a place to eat where an international hipster can impress a lady or man can be a challenge. Enter, the low key but quite hip and yummy Bodega Chic, an excellent bar and restaurant right in the middle of Old San Juan, serving up great French cuisine. Craving steak frites with sauce au poivre? They have it, and it rocks. Salmon cooked to a perfect medium rare? Mais Oi! It has been said that the fries are the best in San Juan. I will take that a step further and simply say that they are the best anywhere. Soggy and double fried, just like the French grandmother you never had used to make.
The environment itself leans more towards the Caribbean, but in a kitchy way, with old photos and knick knacks on the walls. The clientele leans towards local, international, young and coupled. The staff are young and friendly, and the owner is extremely nice and present at all times.
Definitely worth checking out!
