Close to the highway, but also a short walk to hot springs; more hot springs by walking or boating directly across Salt Creek from the main springs. Salt Creek is shallow but in early season/snowmelt it is much faster and more dangerous than it looks. And it's always butt-ass freezing cold. The hot springs are just natural and silty, not a built-up hippie heaven. This place does also attract, um, colorful locals, along with travelers and long-haul truckers.
